UPDATE: Thee Desperado’s Breyer model released
May 6th, 2008
Judy and Jim Sirbasku and Arabians Ltd. are thrilled to announce that their world-famous herd sire Thee Desperado is being immortalized as a Breyer model horse! Thee Desperado will be the FIRST and ONLY Egyptian Arabian ever chosen to become a Breyer model.
Judy and Jim believe this is an honor befitting the horse and his innumerable accolades both as a show horse and as a sire, including the unprecedented accomplishment of being crowned Leading Sire for 11 Years and counting at the Egyptian Event.

Judy and Jim believe this is an honor befitting the horse and his innumerable accolades both as a show horse and as a sire, including the unprecedented accomplishment of being crowned Leading Sire for 11 Years and counting at the Egyptian Event. Desperado’s biggest fan and lifelong friend Shawn Crews relates that he’s thrilled with the news and can’t wait to meet himself in miniature form.
The release of Thee Desperado’s model will be celebrated at Breyerfest, the company’s annual celebration of their models and the horses who inspired them, this summer. Desperado will be represented by son Pimlico RCA at the event, which will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in July. Arabians Ltd. will start the party, however, at the Egyptian Event in June in the same location!
Arabians Ltd. Client Services and resident photographer Randi Clark has coordinated and orchestrated Desperado’s path to becoming a Breyer horse for years now. Her belief in the importance of this project has seen it through to successful completion.
Since 1950, Breyer has been the world’s most famous brand of model horses. Each is hand-detailed and decorated, so no 2 models are exactly the same. Desperado’s statues will be available nationwide beginning in April. The model made its official debut at Desperado’s 19th birthday party, held during Client Seminar April 5th and 6th. I am just tickled pink with this…I went and ordered two as soon as I saw it! I have a friend that cutomizes model horses so I will keep one as Thee Desperado and she is going to customize the other to look like my gelding Majid Barakat (The Desperado x The Minstris 2002). She will probably do the same…she has a 2001 gelding by TD out of The Lucky Lady…Kasino Zabi.
Maji is close to a spitting image of his sire. He has grown into a lovely young man and is the smartest horse I have ever known. He has that gorgeous head and is a total clown! He has turned into a fine trail horse and someday we might even try some endurance riding. But no matter what, Maji has a home for life here in Florida and will be forever loved!
