On a warm August evening in 1994, Judy received the call that an especially beautiful solid black filly had been born. Judy immediately went to the farm and first laid her eyes on the refined and typey filly, Rhapsody in Black. Rhapsody is by Thee Desperado and out the Arabians Ltd. foundation mare and Ruminaja Ali daughter Aliashahm RA. Though shown sparingly, Rhapsody in Black has produced an amazing legacy with her offspring and has remained one of Judy’s most treasured mares.

In 2006, Rhapsody repeated as Egyptian Event Leading Dam of Winners. She also stretched her record of producing a Champion in the Egyptian Breeders Challenge for a third consecutive year when her filly Bint Rhapsody inBlack was led to the winner’s circle by Arabians Ltd. client Karl Breckon. Both of these honors are unprecedented for the Egyptian Event.

Rhapsody in Black has produced many wonderful foals! Past foals include:

Rhapsody in Red, a multi Champion Gelding, by Thee Infidel.

Alia Amal LDA, by Tcheser Billa Bay, has produced beautiful black colts and a filly for her new owners.

Magic Elixir is a beautiful stallion, by The Elixir.

The cross with our stallion Alixir was so successful, he sired Rhapsody’s last five foals:

RSL Faith was Rhapsody’s first foal by Alixir, was a champion show mare, and is now a valued member of the Arabians Ltd. broodmare band.

Bellagio RCA, Rhapsody’s first Egyptian Event Egyptian Breeders Challenge (EBC) Champion, is our breathtaking resident black stallion at Arabians Ltd. and has already sired HIS first EBC Champion, a filly crowned at the 2o09 Egyptian Event!

Mirajh RCA, Bellagio’s younger jet-black brother and Rhapsody’s second EBC Champion in a row, has been exported to Egypt where he is also standing stud. See Mirajh’s first foal, crowned a champion as a weanling!

Bint Rhapsody inBlack, Rhapsody’s 2005 filly who was also an Egyptian Breeders Challenge Champion at the age of 1, is now a part of the Arabians Ltd. broodmare band and is producing beautiful foals of her own!

Rhapsody in Black’s 2006 filly, Rhapsody’s Crescendaa, was purchased in-utero and joins a collection of prized broodmares on the West Coast.
