Mishaal Son to Create His Own Legacy
January 25th, 2008
Congratulations to Honeysuckle Rose North on their lease of the gorgeous 3-year-old stallion Mishaali RCA (Mishaal HP x Maali RCA by Ruminaja Ali). Bred and owned by Arabians Ltd., this young colt has an impeccable, champion-filled pedigree, combining the best of European and American blood.

His sire, Mishaal HP, was Reserve Senior Champion Stallion at the 2007 Egyptian Event, and his mother is the dam of stallions such as The Makers Mark (x The Minstril), who was exported to South Africa, and The Profile (x The Minstril) and Thee Makers Mark (x Thee Desperado), who was exported to Saudi Arabia. The only producing daughter of Ruminaja Ali at Arabians Ltd., Maali has created her own legacy around the world. That legacy continues with Mishaali RCA, who will be bred mainly to Polish mares of the highest quality, such as Champions and National Champion producers LL Maria Lania (*Lamolin x Andara Shahlima by Kamim++) and FSF Marquessa (*Lamolin x Kazanna Belle by Kazann), as well as young *Ecaho daughters bred by farm owners Andrew and Amanda Mitchell. “Amanda came highly recommended to us by other Polish breeders, and we couldn’t be happier for both she and Mishaali,” shares Shawn Crews.
Mishaali, called one of the prettiest Mishaal colts to date, has a wonderfully exotic face, along with great conformation and movement. Apart from Honeysuckle’s broodmare band, Mishaali will only be breeding a handful of outside mares per year. “We’d been searching for over a year for a top quality stallion to bring into our program and compliment our Polish mares when Shawn approached us,” says Amanda. “We believe Mishaali is one of the top Straight Egyptian colts in North America and we can’t wait to see how beautifully he crosses with our mares!”
Asked why it’s important to make stallions available to non-Egyptian breeders, Shawn notes, “Arabians Ltd. only breeds Straight Egyptians, and everywhere you look around the world, some of the most history-making horses are Egyptian-related. That’s why we believe it’s so important to breed Straight Egyptians—so other breeders will always have that pool to draw from.” Preserving that gene pool for the non-Egyptian world proves itself in the up-close Egyptian blood existing in the pedigrees of many of the era’s biggest Arabian stars, such as Marwan al Shaqab, Gazal al Shaqab, and El Shaklan. World-famous Egyptian-sired stallion Ali Jamaal started his breeding career at Arabians Ltd. “We’ve always thought it was important to breed our stallions to non-Egyptian mares,” she notes, “to give them a chance to prove themselves in the open Arabian world. We are excited that such a wonderful breeder as Amanda would choose our young colt for her best mares, and the best part is, Mishaali is having a blast.”
Mishaali’s first foals to will make their debut in the spring of 2009, and we’ll let you know when they do!
